A new extension was constructed to the front and rear of a property, which had been constructed on piles, therefore a piled solution was required. 150mm diameter bottom driven steel cased mini piles installed using a Grundomat piling hammer and reinforced ground beams were constructed and cast to support the new extensions.
York Art Gallery underwent a major redevelopment and as part of the works a new mezzanine floor was installed. Piled foundations were installed to support the additional loadings from this new floor. As the works had to be carried out internally and access to the area of works was via a door opening small mini piling rigs were used to install bottom driven mini piles.
A new school building was constructed alongside the existing school. Due to poor ground conditions traditional strip foundations would have been uneconomical and therefore bottom driven piles were installed with reinforced concrete ground beams to support the new construction.
The existing signal box had started to settle as a consequence of its age and that it was sitting on 15 metres of very soft ground. Due to the very restricted access around the structure, limited headroom restriction and that the works were close to ‘live’ tracks our small mini piling rig was utilised to install bottom driven mini piles.
